Avenue 15 Architectural Feasibility Study

Website

Trellis is exploring the redevelopment of Avenue 15, Calgary's only emergency youth shelter, into a purpose-built facility that combines emergency shelter, community programming, and supportive housing. The project aims to create a seamless pathway from crisis to stable housing while responding to the growing need for youth housing in Calgary.

Support from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation will fund a feasibility study and conceptual design for the redevelopment. The proposed facility would replace the current shelter, which operates from a converted 1910 home, with a modern, trauma-informed space designed to better support the wellbeing, recovery, and long-term success of young people experiencing homelessness.

By bringing emergency shelter, supportive services, and housing together under one roof, the project will help inform a more integrated approach to youth housing and homelessness in Alberta.
